What is a fine-grained distribution package?

SuperMap iServer offers fine-grained distribution packages starting with the 10i (2020) SP1 release. The currently available fine-grained distribution packages include Mapping distribution, Analysis distribution, Realspace distribution. The fine-grained distribution package differs from other non-fine-grained distribution packages in that:

  1. Fine-grained distribution packages provide only one aspect of GIS capability, such as only map capability or only three-dimensional capability.

  2. The supported extensions are licensed differently, and each fine-grained distribution only supports enabling the extensions that are relevant to its functionality.

What are the advantages of fine-grained distribution packages?

Compared with the non-fine-grained distribution package, the fine-grained distribution package has the following main advantages:

  1. Fine-grained distribution package volume is more streamlined, reducing hard disk space consumption

  2. Fine-grained distribution packages start faster, reducing latency

  3. The memory occupied by the fine-grained distribution package is lower, and the system running resources are liberated
